Jericho May Return! Don’t Tease Me, Netflix!

Jericho PicIf this is a big joke by Netflix, I may just cry. I’ve already been burned once on this subject, and although it wasn’t technically Netflix’s fault, I’m still a bit gun shy.

You see, it was a few years ago, and I was cruising the Watch Instantly section of Netlflix, when I came across Jericho. The premise was grabby:

A small town in Kansas is literally left in the dark after seeing a mushroom cloud over near-by Denver, Colorado. The townspeople struggle to find answers about the blast and solutions on how to survive.

I jumped right in and watched the first episode. And then the next. And then the next (hey, I was working from home at the time, I could goof off adjust my schedule as I saw fit). Boy was I hooked. That day Jericho was my favorite show. I ate it up, burned through the 22 episode first season, jumped into the second season, hit episode seven, and went right on to hit a brick wall.

There was no episode eight.

It turns out, the show had been canceled, and I wandered in like some innocent fool, unaware. I was heartbroken. Not only was this fantastic show OVER, but they didn’t get the chance to end it PROPERLY.

Well, they may now have the chance. Netflix is in talks with the Jericho folks to bring the show back! While it is true “Season 3” exists in comic book form, and there have been talks of a movie picking up where Season 2 ended, hauling those actors back in front of the camera and hitting the series with a defibrillator could be the best thing ever.

The comic books, the movie rumors, and the potential show resurrection just goes to show you that after the End there is always the chance to rebuild.

Thank you to all the fans out there that pushed and pushed for Jericho – the lazy fans like me that sat around wishing and doing nothing are in your debt.

Now… Netflix… DON’T MESS THIS UP.
